Sydney’s Best Shopping
February 23rd, 2014 | Meriton Apartments
Sydney is superb for shopping and you really can’t go wrong no matter which direction of the city you choose to explore. Here are some of our favourite shopping hot spots you must check out next time you’re in town:
Paddington has a great range of boutique shops like Jac+Jack and it’s also home to some of the big brands too. Take a wander down some of the side streets and find yourself in a hand-made chocolate shop or art gallery. Once you’ve spent your money, enjoy a latte at one of the many well to do cafes in the area.
Love op shopping? Then Surry Hills is the place to go. Start at the beginning of Crown St stopping at C’s Flashback before working your way down. There’s plenty of second-hand threads to be had and lots of great off-beat boutiques to check out along the way too, including Grandma Takes A Trip.
The Rocks Markets
You can’t get a better setting for a market than the The Rocks. Enjoy some hot coffee and gourmet stall food before perusing the aisles of hand-made goodies like art, diaries, scarves, jewelry and more. Once you’ve taken in the markets, enjoy a pub lunch at one of the fine establishments nearby.
The Westfield underneath Centrepoint Tower is the best place to stock up on big brand clothing and has everything you could ask for including Zara, Guess and Gap. Located in the heart of the famous shopping precinct Pitt St Mall, Centrepoint Westfield not only has several levels of boutiques and local and international designer brands but they also have the best food court in all of Sydney. In fact, it’s more like a giant restaurant than a food court! Needless to say, it’s the perfect place to eat after you’ve worked up an appetite maxing out that credit card.
After yet another Sydney shopping hot spot that offers both great shops and a view? Try Darling Harbour. There’s specialist candy, souvenir and leather shops, as well as more regular favourites. And if you’re lucky, you may even get to enjoy the fireworks after a long day of spending.
