Extended Stays with
Meriton Serviced Apartments

I just wrapped up a 75 night stay at the Meriton on Kent Street and was extremely pleased with my experience. The building is very clean and modern, and the suite I received was excellent. I change rooms early in my trip - so if you're there for an extended stay I would suggest pressing for a room with a full kitchen as they are excellent.
I thought the size of my suite was incredible, good sized bedroom with a big comfy bed, full kitchen, full size laundry and a good sized living room. The room was serviced once a week, which was good but a bit inconsistant - some weeks I received additional ammenities, sometimes I didn't, sometimes I'd be given extra toilet paper and some weeks I'd have to call and request more. The actual cleaning during the servicing was excellent though.
I didn't experience any noise coming from within the hotel, but if you are a light sleeper I would reccommend getting a high floor that is west facing to avoid the nightly commotion from George Street. I'm an excellet sleeper, however, so while being aware of the noise, it never bothered me.
Elevators are sometimes a bit slow, but I never experienced the ten minute wait I read about in other reviews. I usually just found the elevators to be busiest at the end of the day if there was a big conference staying in the hotel (and as I was there for 75 nights, I saw quite a bit of turnover).
The Neighbourhood makes you accessible to so many things - two grocery stores within walking distance, tons of restaurants, as well as Paddy's Markets only a few minutes away for cheaper veggies, and of course Darling Harbour.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Meriton again and highly recommend it for long term stays.

I have been in Sydney on business and will have been at the Meriton for 52 days. It has become my home away from home... Living away from home for such an extended period produces its own pressures but staying at the Meriton Apartments in Kent Street I found comfortable and relaxing (considering it is in the middle of a major city)...
